The Aptaris 15mm Universal LWS Base Plate is the perfect base for almost all cameras. Thanks to the included spacer rods, the baseplate can be aligned so that the lens is at the right distance to the rods,
for example to use a follow focus or a matte box - no matter if it's a DSLR/CSC or a professional film camera like the Canon C300. The baseplate, produced in Germany, was developed in cooperation with professional filmmakers. Many details help to achieve optimal results while shooting and to be as flexible as possible.
For cameras that are only mounted with one screw, the Baseplate has an anti-twist feature that always locks the camera firmly in place, even under heavy use. Some viewfinders and battery grips also offset the tripod thread by a few millimeters, which means the lens is no longer centered on the rods. This offset can be compensated by the special shape of the camera plate. Several 1/4? inch threads on all sides allow convenient attachment of additional accessories via articulated arms. For mounting on a video tripod, the baseplate has 3 x 3/8? threads on the bottom side. Included in the delivery are 3 x 3/8? to 1/4? adapters to work with most tripod systems. For shooting close to the ground, an optional carrying handle can be attached to the baseplate.
