The newly upgraded Focus PX and GX series are the successors to the Focus PLUS series, which immediately became a bestseller in the power supply market after its launch in 2017. In 2019, Seasonic engineers have made improvements to the popular series, such as removing the inline capacitors on the supplied cables. Fluid dynamic bearing
High-performance fluid dynamic bearings (FDB) fans are designed to utilise the shock-absorbing properties of oil. They are extremely reliable and generate significantly less operating noise and heat than ball bearing fans. Lubrication of the bearing surface reduces friction and vibration, which lowers overall power consumption. Due to the effortless, quieter rotations and their robust design, this reliable fan technology also significantly increases the service life of the fan.
As the fan shaft rotates, high-pressure oil flows along the grooves of the bearing sleeve, creating a thin layer of lubrication between the bearing surfaces.
As the speed increases, the dynamic oil pressure also increases and the axle is lifted off the bearing to produce smooth, effortless rotations. The zigzag shape of the grooves helps to channel the lubricant efficiently and prevent leakage.
