Actually, I just want a HEOS subwoofer, but the stand-alone subwoofer is too expensive for me at just under 800. Here I can get a soundbar and a subwoofer for 300. Can I integrate & use the subwoofer in my system without the soundbar via WLAN in my home as a supplement to the built-in speakers in the ceiling, which deliver somewhat little bass?

No, unfortunately that is not possible. Heos components only work with each other, and this also applies to the new subwoofer Denon HEOS SUBWOOFER (Black, USB Host).
