You can use it with a Z170 motherboard but you still have to update the BIOS etc.
Check the Asus website. Each board has a support tab with a compatibility list. For most boards, Asus has provided a bios update that ensures compatibility for Kaby Lake CPUs under chipset Z170.
I bought the 7700k, but it doesn't work because you can't upgrade the bios to version 3007 (Asus z170 Deluxe), is that right? I can't use it like that.
Can you know why the i7 7700k is cheaper than the previous i7 4790k even with one discount because i wanted to upgrade my old i5 to the i7 4790k but with almost 100 sfr difference i'm not sure if it's wise
