Wantec DTL 2.0 DECT to Line Adapter
Wantec DTL 2.0 DECT to Line Adapter
Can I use it to connect a fax machine wirelessly to the UPC Connect box?
"DECT" is a radio protocol which is used (as is common in the industry) for radio telephones.
The DECT adapter is treated as an additional DECT-capable end device (as if it were a telephone) and is coupled to your "master" (in my case a FritzBox - in yours your UPC box). Now you don't have a telephone, but only a socket for a telephone in another place/room, which is connected via DECT radio. And that's where the fax is plugged in.
So: The mandatory prerequisite for this is that your box can connect DECT terminals; if this is not possible, then this variant is not an issue anyway.
And: "Fax over Wlan" => I don't know much about this, but one thing is for sure: For this, more than just "a driver" is necessary - i.e.: software that has to be paid for. Understand me correctly: Printing via Wlan: Yes - but: Fax via Wlan - No - because you go out via your telephone connection.

Hello Ghostrider 72
If your fax was already connected to the UPC Connect Box (I don't know it in detail) and other DECT-capable devices can be paired with it, I don't see any problem.
Pair the DECT adapter to the Connext box - plug it in at the desired location - answer the fax - continue working ;-)
Perfect solution - I have distributed old telephones "decentrally" in this way (as is appropriate for modern living today) - and I can only recommend it!
