Can I use Musiccast speakers when watching a film via an AV receiver? I.e. when the source on the receiver is the BluRay player?

To be more precise: I have an older Yamaha AV receiver without Musiccast. Can I connect the CD-NT670D(AB) to the system and watch movies via the BluRay player connected to the AV receiver and use the wireless speakers with Musiccast? Or do I need a WXAD-10 for this? I.e. can the Musiccast speakers be used when the BluRay player is selected as the source? Thank you very much.
