I need the Bose QuietComfort on various devices. The control does not work because it has a contact for this on the plug that is only used on the Android. On devices without this contact - in my case a Windows tablet - the headphones work perfectly just without control, as you pointed out. I use it in the open-plan office when I want my peace and quiet. I definitely have that, even if I don't listen to music and only ambient noise is suppressed. I can only recommend it!
