This drive can read all varieties. As far as I know, ripping depends on the software installed. For example, I can play Blu-ray discs directly on Mac M1 Monterey with an appropriate player.

I used it to digitise my DVD/Blu Ray collection. DRM is not in the drive as far as I know. Your software should be able to bypass it.

As long as you have software that allows it, more or less any drive can digitise a disc it can read on the computer.
