Do I need the Logitech software? I have a K400 Plus keyboard and use it (lost dongle) on X hundred different computers. I can't download any software. So just plug it in and go doesn't work?

I am of the opinion that you need to set up the SetPoint (old) / Options (new) software briefly on at least one PC so that you can connect the old keyboard with the new dongle - after that, the combo should work again on all PCs without software installation.
