I have had a problem with my Lenovo Yoga - it was basically compatible, most things worked, but I had problems with the LAN connection (which I needed for my work). Whenever I was connected via LAN, I lost the connection in MS Teams meetings).
After my query to support, here is the reply:
"However, the problem is often due to compatibility between the two devices, as the two are only partially compatible. Unfortunately, no docking station from Lenovo is compatible with your Yoga C740 15IML."

So you could assume that Lenovo devices should be compatible with each other - I would be careful and ask Lenovo directly.

If the Thinkpad has a USB-C port, that should work. But that's also the bummer (sorry if I make that clear) with today's "docking stations", because the USB-C port is heickel. I have two such stations (at home and in the office) and after a relatively short time a light touch of the USB cable is enough and the laptop freaks out because it thinks it is disconnected and reconnected and disconnected again, etc., etc. Not the problem with THIS docking station, but probably with all docking stations of this type, and unfortunately there are no others these days. This also means that another USB-C docking station from a "free" manufacturer probably works just as well (or badly).
