For the M1 Macbook Air, which can drive only one external monitor, other thunderbolt hubs with 2 display ports are not really necessary. Instead, it is better to have an additional thunderbolt port, like this one for the M1.

Your comments are correct. I do not have an additional monitor. But I need the card reader and the USB ports regularly.
