Does this plug&play work with any DSLR that has an HDMI output?

I am looking for a solution for my EOS 2000d in order to be able to focus better and to be able to evaluate the picture taken better afterwards. When I connect the camera to an ordinary monitor via HDMI, no picture comes up. Neither can I view the pictures I have taken, nor can I transfer the Liveview, and certainly no mirroring of the camera display is possible. Apparently, this is only supposed to work with the Canon utility software. So only via a computer. So I wonder if this screen can handle it?

We were able to easily connect the Feelworld 7" directly to our Canon EOS 5D Mark IV with an HDMI cable. As soon as the photo has been triggered, it is displayed on the Feelworld monitor (~ 1 sec later). The small monitor in the camera remains inactive.

so with my Canon EOS 90D it works wonderfully. I'm actually rather surprised for this price.
