Hello, does anyone have experience with the installation on a VW Sharan 7N? Did the installation work smoothly, or do you need extra adapters / cables? Thanks for the help!

In any case, on a 2007 VW T5 Mutlivan, not only did I need an adaptor, but I also had to place the DC power cable (which allows the car radio to have just enough power to store the settings) and the switch cable in the right place.
I struggled for a long time (several days) to find the connection on the fuse box for the switch current (current available when the key is turned to the ignition), otherwise the car radio is constantly pumping current and the battery potential may be too low to start the vehicle.
In short: if you like to tinker, it's OK, otherwise the installation is problematic. Now, on a Sharan, it might be easier.
