Hello, I have a Z170 Extreme7+ motherboard with socket 1151, so this CPU chip should run with it. Do I see that right?

According to the manufacturer's website (http://www.asrock.com/mb...), the board supports 6th and 7th generation processors. So the combination should work.
What may happen is that the firmware (actually more from the board than from the processor) must first be updated. Because of the Intel security gaps, a lot has been adapted on the firmware side.
