Question about Logitech USB Unifying Reciever

Hello, Logitech connoisseurs, I bought Logitech Unifying receivers to replace the dongle that originally came with the Logitech Marathon M705 mouse. I plug it into my Apple Extended Keyboard, which is connected to the Mac Pro via USB cable, as before. Then a warning message immediately appears saying that the Mac does not recognise my keyboard. And I can't move the mouse at all. Why this behaviour? Is dongle ≠ dongle? Merci for an enlightening answer.

I have connected 3 different Logitech mice to my Mac via Bluetooth and never needed a dongle. Of course, I don't know if this also works with the M705.

Hello Anon,

The Unifying receiver should be compatible with your mouse and work as expected... but the replacement receivers are not yet paired with your specific mouse :)... for MacOS you can find it on the Logitech support page at https://support.logi.com/hc... or just search for the Unifying software in the downloads...
The software should be pretty self-explanatory... only problem: you almost need a mouse to use it :).

Hope this helped you. Happy mousing.

Cheers
