I own a Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 8 with operating system Ubuntu 20.04. I would like to run 2 external monitors and the laptop display at the same time. Is this possible with this docking station? If not, are there any alternatives?

I use it daily with Ubuntu 20.04, with two screens, but with this adapter/dock:
LMP USB-C Alu Mini Dock (1.50 cm)

The second screen is connected directly to the laptop.

The connection runs via DisplayLink, so special software/special drivers are necessary here. Depending on the Linux distro, you will have to put more or less effort into making it work. Since you mentioned Ubuntu, you seem to be lucky.

See here for more information on DisplayLink: https://www.synaptics.com/products...

Hope this helps you.

According to the manufacturer, the docking station is compatible with Windows. I don't know of any docking station that is compatible with Linux, it's just a matter of drivers.
