I tried to run the UDM Pro with a Vigor 166. The ISP is Sunrise. The bridge mode does not work and according to research this can be very tricky. My question: With the Vigor an internet connection is established without bridge mode, the DHCP server is activated in a different range than the rest of the network. The WAN port of the UDM is connected to LAN port 1 of the Vigor. Now I should have Internet, right? With the USG-Pro-4 it works without problems. Is my UDM defective or am I doing something wrong?

Try connecting the UDM to the Vigor via LAN instead of WAN, then you should at least have Internet as a client. Then update the firmware first, there were big problems at the beginning (if not already done).

Then it may indeed take a while until the connection is online for the first time.

I can't tell you if something is effectively defective, but this was very similar for me. I currently have it running behind a Fritzbox to test it. And I could do whatever I wanted at the beginning, it could never connect to the internet. I restarted it again and again and tried everything. This went on for 2 days and then all of a sudden it worked. I didn't change anything in my setup. So it could

well be that it works. If you have the possibility, try to set it up quickly with a colleague. As soon as that is the case, you can always access it anyway.
