.... should be compatible, but there are x-users for whom the wifi fails after connecting a device to the Thunderbolt USB-C) port! You will also find numerous more or less nonsensical solutions on the net! the problem is clearly with the MacBook Pro! I have the same problem with my MacBook Pro 2019, especially when I connect the HDMI cable for the second screen, my Wi-Fi is gone. Power cable, external hard drive, external keyboard etc. also doesn't work via this multiport adapter.
