Is there a particular reason why the price is falling so sharply right now, as the i7 13700k is also falling very sharply...

Yes, the Intel CPUs of the 13th and 14th generation (as you can see from the numbers 13xxx and 14xxx, such as the i7 14700K advertised here) are affected by a bug that makes the processor unstable and broken forever. Digitec even wrote an article about this themselves. We strongly advise against buying these processors at the moment.

To be fair, it should also be mentioned that Intel has promised an update to this problem and has already released two of them. However, CPUs that are already affected will not be repaired and will remain broken. In addition, the two updates currently available do not appear to have completely resolved the problems.

To put it mildly, I am extremely negatively surprised that Digitec is even still advertising this processor here. They should have labelled the products with a bold warning and pointed out the problem with every item. Anyone who has already bought the product should cancel it and choose another one.

I strongly advise anyone and everyone not to buy Intel processors and those who have bought them should cancel them before it's too late.
