Is this cooling sufficient for an Intel Core i7 7700K 4Ghz? How do I know which Corsair Hydro I need? When is a more powerful model like the H115i worthwhile?

Yes, there is nothing to stop you from cooling the 7700k with the H100. I myself have the same CPU running with an H80.
It is rather important to note whether this h100 cooler can be mounted in the PC housing. this is no problem in a corsair housing :-)
