Question about Kensington VeriMark

I've had the scanner for probably 2-3 years and for the last three days I've had the problem that the scanner flashes constantly and Windows makes the reconnect sound, like when a USB device is constantly connected and disconnected. If I then remove the VeriMark in the device manager and have it recognised again, it works until the next reboot. Has anyone ever had this problem? I've been using it for 1.5 years under Win11, previously Win10. This is the only thing I found, but it doesn't seem to work under Win11: https://www.reddit.com/r/windows/comments/ndowlc/fix_kensington_verimark_it_reader_sorry_something/ some kind of memory on the VeriMark that has filled up could be the cause!

I had exactly the same problem until your question, and was now able to solve it somehow with the linked instructions! =)

Unfortunately, the instructions didn't bring any success directly because it's a bit of a different model (instructions are for VeriMark IT, this one is just "VeriMark").
With the following steps, my fingerprint reader is now somehow ready for use again:

- Download the driver manually here ("Windows 10 & 11 Manual driver Install and Hello FP enrolling").
https://www.kensington.com/p...

- Unzip the folder in the ZIP file to the desktop or like this

- Unzip and install the driver manually via Device Manager ("Biometric devices" --> "Kensington..." --> Right-click --> "Update drivers" --> "Search for drivers on my computer" --> "Select from a list... Select from a list" --> [Disk] --> Select the folder you just unzipped.

- The selection "Kensington Fingerprint Key - USB 066" should appear. Install this driver.

I have no idea whether these steps were all necessary, so if in doubt, just follow them:
- Afterwards I executed "CheckFPDatabase.exe" in the unzipped folder as administrator (no idea if this was necessary).
- Also from the unzipped folder, run "KensingtonFingerprintApplication.exe" as administrator but did not click anything else, just left the programme open.
- In addition, run the file "WBFResetService123.exe" from the linked article (this comes from the other download, according to the linked instructions).

Good luck, I hope it works for you too.

Hello, I have been using it for a few years under Windows 10 pro in the latest version with all Windows updates. I have not had any problems so far. LG
