Now the Uvp of the 4090 Founder Edition in Europe is 1899 Euros. So I assume that these cards will cost around 2000 to 2300 euros here, unfortunately. But at these prices, I think it's better to go for a 3090 or a 3080 12Gb. If you can do without a little more ray tracing. :D At this length of 35cm, they only fit into big towers or very large midi cases anyway. Apart from that we should wait for the new power supplies anyway. Unless you want to have such an ugly adapter lying around in the case.

Corsair already sells cables that are compatible with their power supplies, no adapter is needed.

You can still buy the graphics card so that you already have it at home. Buying the power supply will probably be less difficult than getting a graphics card.

It's not about the adapter, it's about the fact that the new power supplies can actively communicate with the GPU through the additional connection.
If you have a power supply that is less than 1000W, I strongly recommend not buying a 4090.
The 4090 draws up to 700W at startup (see Jayztwocent's video where he explains this).
