Question about Devolo dLAN 550 WiFi Network Kit

The range of my existing WLAN does not reach up to the upper floor. I want to have both Wi-Fi and LAN connections upstairs. Do I understand correctly that this thing creates a new/separate Wi-Fi network? So do I have to connect to the "old" wifi network on the bottom floor and the new one when I go upstairs? That wouldn't be so cool somehow...

No, you can integrate them into an SSID. Leave the old access point, new satellites with the same SSID. But three of the satellites broke down. I therefore switched to Orbi, which works excellently and is much faster.
