What front panel connectors does the case have internally? Can USB type A and type C both be used on the internal usb 3.0 connector or does it need an adapter to a usb 3.1 gen2 to use the type C connector?

The USB C has its own front panel connector and does not go via USB 3.0. I hope this helps you. My mainboard did not have a connector for this (Gigabyte Aorus x570).
