When I connect my MacBook or Windows LapTop via HDMI, the maximum resolution can only be set to 1080p. On the console, 1440p is possible. Can I fix this with a DisplayPort to USB C cable or something else? And how can I switch on the LEDs behind the monitor?

DisplayPort to USB-C should work, you simply need DisplayPort 1.4.
You can switch on the LEDs in the monitor settings via the button on the back of the monitor (Menu -> Game -> Infinity Core Lightning).
Have fun with it!
