Corn spirit and fire cult

Kurt Derungs., German

Product details

Between the Rhine Falls, the Thur and the Alpstein, a hidden floodplain landscape has been preserved. River valleys, hills and small lakes characterize the area, which today is known for fruit and wine
growing. But in the southern Lake Constance area we also discover cult sites, ancient customs and historically significant finds that are part of an amazing mythical landscape. The archaeological finds of Pfyn, for example, have given the name "Pfyn Culture" to an early European period. Equally significant are the pile-dwelling settlements of Ürschhausen-Horn, where an amazing ancestor and moon horn cult was cultivated. Numerous traces also go back to the Celts, as evidenced by burial mounds or the geographical names Rhine, Thur, Eschenz and Arbon. In addition, wonderful animal figures were recovered from the settlement near the island of Rheinau - a bull with mighty horns as well as a boar. Both consecrations open up to us.
