Product details

A man deals with the differences between the sexes. But the sociologist Pierre Bourdieu does not do this in order to bring feminism under male dominance, but to show that male domination is a special form of symbolic domination, both politically and economically important. Male domination is the paradigm of all domination. It has been reflected in the social world and is present in the attitudes of all, the habitus: as a universal principle of seeing, a system of categories of perception, thought and action. This explains why such power is accepted, because it is not based on a voluntary decision, but on the immediate subjugation of socialized women. For Bourdieu, therefore, a symbolic revolution is needed, a radical transformation of the social conditions that the beholder is subjected to.
