Near Gut Kaltenbach, a large cross-country race is taking place. The winner stands to gain a substantial prize money and qualification for a famous desert race. Mika is outraged, as these long and tough races are dangerous for the horses. Then Feuersturm falls ill and requires an expensive operation. Without consulting Mika, Francesca enters her best friend and Ostwind into the race – because only with the prize money can Feuersturm's life be saved.
