Damn fast and damn likable!

Patina runs like lightning. She runs for her mom, who relies on a wheelchair due to her diabetes, she runs for her little sister Maddy, and she runs to finally shake off all the responsibility weighing on her. At school, she is among the best, leaving little room for silliness and being a kid. Only sometimes does Patina even get a chance to dream. Then she thinks of her idol, Florence Griffith-Joyner, with her colorful long nails. Just like her, she wants to run and be celebrated in the future. Because when she runs, she forgets everything. Then she is just rhythm and speed. And really cool, as Ghost thinks, and everyone else on the team does too.
