In 1949, Josef Mengele, the camp doctor of Auschwitz, escapes to Argentina to start a new life. In Buenos Aires he meets numerous supporters, among them dictator Perón. But the Mossad and Nazi hunter Simon Wiesenthal follow his heels and he has to flee to the country. Increasingly isolated, he rescues himself from hiding place to hiding place until he dies in a swimming accident in 1979. Guez depicts Mengele's escape as fast-paced and gripping as a thriller.
