The story of a wonderful rescue. Sara enjoys a happy childhood in France during the 1930s – until the Nazis occupy her country. One day in April 1943, the Jewish girl must flee from the advancing German soldiers and is separated from her parents. Her classmate Julien finds her. Despite all dangers, he and his family hide Sara for many months. Julien, whom Sara once teased, now becomes her closest confidant and best friend, and she imagines a future together with him. However, the henchmen of the German occupiers are on their trail. Julien does not survive this. Many years later, Sara will name her first child after him, and as an old woman, she will tell her grandson Julian her story.
