Question about Cricut Joy
Can you cut other, non-Cricut materials with the Cricut Joy? e.g. vinyl film from the DIY store from DC-Fix or 3M? Do Critcut materials have to be used or can third-party materials also be used, as with Silhouette plotters? Can SnapPap be cut?

Yes, you can use everything, as with all plotters. 😊🥰
Other brands also work, it doesn't have to be Cricut itself (except Infusible ink). You can also cut materials from other manufacturers with a Silhouette plotter, I have both plotters at home and cut all kinds of things with them.
