The item works with Hue Bridge and does not require an adapter, as far as we are concerned because it comes with a power supply in the box and connects to the Bridge wirelessly.

But we recommend getting the bridge or lights as close together as possible during the initial setup so that they can be easily located and the firmware updated before placing them in the desired location.
