Homemade sauerkraut, kimchi, cucumbers, carrots or garlic with the Kilner fermentation jar you can easily pickle and preserve vegetables. The best thing about it, however, is the flavour - exceptional, aromatic vegetables full of vitamins. The nutrients are completely preserved or converted by the fermentation process. With the Kilner fermentation set, gases and therefore pressure can escape from the jar without oxygen getting in. This means that the jar remains sterile, no germs get into the jar and the vegetables stay fresh. Pickling is very easy, you just need to add water and salt. And vegetables, of course. The vegetables are cut into thin slices, mixed with salt and then the liquid is squeezed out. It is then layered tightly in the Kilner jar, water is poured in and the corresponding ceramic plates are placed on top. These are important to weigh down the vegetables. The jar is tightly sealed with the lid and the special Kilner valve is fitted. The jar must now stand for a few weeks.
