The robot can also be operated offline, but many functions are not available without Wi-Fi. Without Wi-Fi, only basic cleaning functions are possible, while it requires a connection to the ECOVACS Home app and Wi-Fi for advanced control, room mapping, timer, manual settings and other smart functions.

The most important functions without WLAN are:

- Manual start/stop of cleaning directly on the appliance
- Automatic vacuuming and mopping according to preset programmes (provided these have been saved beforehand)
- Return to the charging station

Functions that are not possible without WLAN include

- Control and customisation via the app (e.g. room division, cleaning sequence, suction power and water volume adjustment)
- Use of multi-floor maps and detailed room management
- Pet mode, carpet detection and safety distance settings
- Use as a mobile surveillance camera
- Firmware updates and cloud-based AI functions

The Wi-Fi connection is therefore essential for the full range of functions, while the robot only works to a limited extent in offline mode.
