The adapter to the old system is included with the spiral slicer. Yes, you need some skill and feeling to achieve satisfactory results, it is not quite perfect.

I don't know. But I think so. So far, I'm not at all enthusiastic about the spiral slicer. I tried it with potatoes and carrots. Since you can't really skewer these hard vegetables, it doesn't work very well. Maybe I should try it later with courgettes, cucumber or something. I'm not thrilled with it, I expected something different.
