Hello, I am told that to instal an air conditioner at home one needs permission from canton authrities in Geneva. Does this rule apply to portable air-conditioner like De'Longhi PAC 112AN?
Zürich City requires a permission for split-AC solution (building outside or on the window), but none is required for a monoblock AC like the De'Longhi PAC 112AN. However as usual in Switzerland local building permission laws can differ i.e. you have to check you Geneva City Building Departement to be sure. I'm not a laywer so no guarantee, but from what I've seen so far monoblock generally do not require building permissions. (Which is insanly stupid, since split AC with the Condensor/Compressor outside generally require less energy to cool an enclosed room to a specific temperature)
