The thin and very lightweight Paso Guide rope with a diameter of 7.7 mm is designed for intense ice climbing and technical mountaineering. It features a water-repellent Guide UIAA Dry treatment that protects it from moisture, making it suitable for daily use in extreme conditions.

The Guide UIAA Dry coating is Petzl's most advanced treatment for frequent use in wet environments. The benefits are particularly noticeable during daily use in extreme conditions such as ice climbing and mountaineering. This coating also enhances the rope's resistance to dirt and abrasion. The Guide UIAA Dry treatment meets the requirements of the UIAA water-repellency test, showing a water absorption of less than 2%. The impregnation process occurs in two steps: first, the rope core is treated before braiding, followed by a complete rope treatment to significantly reduce water absorption and the penetration of small particles.

The EverFlex coating stabilizes the fibers and makes the rope more uniform. It offers excellent handling and ensures long-lasting performance. These properties also apply to semi-static ropes due to a special braid.

The rope features a middle marker for easy identification of the center, facilitating maneuvers.
