In 1910, Jesse Shwayder founded the Shwayder Trunk Manufacturing Company in Denver, initially producing heavy wooden trunks. The company was later renamed Shwayder Brothers, Inc. but it wasn't until 1941 when they released the Samsonite Streamline, a suitcase-like piece of luggage, that the brand we know today evolved.

Samsonite became more and more of a household name to customers, which eventually led to a name change. Today, the wide range of products includes suitcases, travel bags, backpacks, laptop bags and other travel accessories. In the meantime, Samsonite has become the global market leader in the field of luggage - and this is no coincidence: The products optimally withstand the high stresses and strains of travelling thanks to their outstanding quality.
