If I have the Hamax Caress with seat post, can I use the seat with the luggage carrier holder on the luggage carrier? Or do I still need the adapter? Can I use the seat for both? Thanks a lot

You only need this part to attach it to the luggage carrier from now on. You can also change it back again. If I remember correctly, it takes about five minutes.
