Product details
A high-quality rubber roller with a durable handle. The solid rubber roller is ideal for applying printing ink for linoleum prints and more.
The thick printing ink is first rolled out in a clean paint tray to form a thin, even layer, and then applied to the carved linoleum or rubber block. The ink is applied in various directions from one edge of the printing block to the other.
The paper to be printed is placed on the prepared printing block and covered with a sheet of paper or cardboard for protection. If a printing press is not available, the rubber roller can be an effective alternative for smaller prints.
Use the rubber roller to roll back and forth over the protective paper. Be sure to change direction and roll from one edge of the underlying printing block to the other until the ink is evenly distributed.
After the ink is applied, remove the protective paper, lift the printed paper off the printing plate, and let it dry.
Clean the roller in lukewarm water and dry it with a paper towel. A significant advantage of the solid rubber roller compared to a foam roller is that the slightly sticky printing ink forms a thick and even layer on the solid rubber roller. In contrast, a foam roller absorbs some of the ink. Therefore, for a uniform and perfect printing result, it is recommended to use a solid rubber roller.
