The KE7100 tests wires and wire pairs for continuity, interruption, short circuit, reversal, and over-twisting (so-called Split Pair) using a new method. The latter is often undetectable with simple testing devices, yet it is responsible for poor network performance. The KE7100 employs an innovative testing method for this purpose. The over-twisting error of Split Pair can thus be clearly identified even over very short cable lengths. The length of the cable and individual wires is precisely measured using TDR (Time Domain Reflectometer) technology. A remote unit, the KE7010, is required for complete cable testing. The KE7100 can manage up to 32 programmable remote units. Each remote unit also features a good/bad indicator LED.
