Rubber buffers are used for the flexible mounting of machines and components as well as for vibration isolation. The vibration behavior depends on the compression of the rubber buffers. If the load decreases, the buffers compress less and therefore allow more vibration to pass through (they appear to be harder). Therefore, the buffers should be selected so that they are compressed by about 3.5 mm under load.
