The SIRIUS 3RW40 soft starter is designed for standard applications for the gentle start and stop of three-phase asynchronous motors. It allows for stepless starting, reduces current peaks, avoids voltage fluctuations in the network during startup, relieves the power supply network, and decreases mechanical stress on the drive. Additionally, it offers significant space and wiring savings compared to star-delta starters and frequency converters, is maintenance-free, and easy to handle.

The integrated bypass ensures a compact design and lower heating in the control cabinet. Intelligent monitoring functions protect the soft starter from overheating and the motor from overload. The current can be limited to an adjustable maximum value during startup. With the integrated remote reset, faults can be quickly and easily resolved from a distance.

The soft starter has worldwide approvals (e.g., IEC and UL/CSA) and is also suitable for explosive environments (ATEX or IEC Ex). The 3RW soft starters are available for networks up to 690 V in a wide power range with different control supply voltages and are consistently equipped with screw and spring terminals. For the 3RW30/40, there are additional variants with a 24 V control supply voltage. Some of the 3RW40 up to size S3, as well as all 3RW44, also offer thermistor motor protection.
