This coloring is a result of phosphating, a corrosion protection that ensures the screws do not absorb moisture and do not leave marks on the wall surface. Additionally, the phosphating on the screw head provides the perfect adhesion for the subsequent joint compound. Drywall screws have a special head, known as the trumpet head. It is shaped in such a way that when screwed into the drywall framework, it does not penetrate the delicate cardboard layer of the gypsum boards. Therefore, GIX drywall screws ensure a perfect hold of the panels and can be easily sunk with millimeter precision. Three types of threads are available for the drywall screws: The GIX A with fine thread is ideal for screwing into metal stud frames. The GIX B with coarse thread is needed for a wooden framework. The GIX C is your partner when working with gypsum fiber boards. The GIX D, with its self-drilling tip, is designed for secure screwing into thicker metal studs up to 2 mm in material thickness.
