The soil probe is made of stainless steel and is a technical tool for detecting (feeling) soil layers of different densities without the need to excavate the ground. It can be used to identify problematic soil zones in the plow layer that hinder root growth (too loose, too dense) or to detect plow or tractor compaction and general soil compaction. It is also used to determine differences in soil types (e.g., loess on clay or peat on sand) within the soil profile.
