what exactly is this additional plate for type IP44 compared to type IP20, I am not sure which type to choose.

IP44 = protected against splashing water; IP20 = no protection against water

Exactly, this additional plate is the difference to the other type, it would be nice if Digitec could clarify which type should be ordered for which application, after all, the supplier itself should know about it and be able to provide information!

I don't know the difference for sure! The intermediate plate could be the difference. Sealing of the adapter. In my case, the adapter was intended for a water pump! It worked!
