Sony PSVR 2 to be released in early 2023

The second generation of Sony's VR headset is getting closer. The manufacturer announced that the accessory for the Playstation will be released in early 2023.
This would make the PSVR 2 just under a year after the first time it was unveiled. However, Sony did not reveal more than the rough timeframe.

A photo of the PSVR 2 on Instagram and the three words "Coming early 2023." - that's all it takes to build anticipation among Playstation fans. Confirmation is provided by various regional Playstation accounts on Twitter.

The PSVR 2 has, among other things, a so-called pass-through view. Two front cameras show you your surroundings on demand, without you having to take off the VR goggles. The cameras are also used for the customised play area. You define boundaries and receive a warning, for example, when you approach the display case or the sofa. The headset also gets a transmission function. With a camera connected to the Playstation, you can share your movements and reactions while playing.
The PSVR 2 displays game content in HDR video format on two 2000 × 2040 pixel OLED displays with up to 120 hertz refresh rate. In cinema mode, the resolution is reduced to 1920 × 1080 pixels.

When I was but a young student, I'd sit in my friend's living room with all my classmates and play on his SuperNES. Since then I've had the opportunity to test out all the newest technology for you. I've done reviews at Curved, Computer Bild and Netzwelt, and have now arrived at Galaxus.de.
