With the PCEM2-1U, AXAGON offers an internal adapter that connects NVMe M.2 SSDs to the PC via a PCI-Express slot. This is particularly useful when the motherboard does not have a corresponding M.2 slot or if those slots are already occupied. The adapter supports the use of single-sided and double-sided SSDs in x16, x8, and x4 slots.

The PCI-Express bus directly powers the PCEM2-1U, eliminating the need for an external power source. Thermal pads and copper ventilation openings help dissipate the heat generated by the M.2 SSD under load. An LED indicator provides information about the connection and data transfer.
