The SATA connection has become the standard interface for PC drives. Internal hard drives and SSDs, as well as optical drives, are almost exclusively connected to the motherboard via this interface.

This is a round SATA 6G cable from InLine, approximately 30 cm long, featuring a transparent sheath and two straight black connectors with locking tabs. It supports data transfer rates of up to 6 gigabits per second (600 MB/s net data rate), and the cable is also backward compatible with SATA II and SATA I.
